Note for 22 Jul 00: Solo hike. Third peak of the day. I did the entire Hawkins Horseshoe, which took just under 9 hours including a 30 minute rest stop at each of the three summits. Temperature was 29°C (84°F) with very light winds. It was a hot day. | ||

22 Jul 00 - Here we see Mt. Lineham as seen from the summit of Mt. Blakiston. You don't go up this side.
If you are doing the peak as just one peak, you actually go up the back side of this. If you are doing the
peak as part of the Hawkins Horseshoe, you will be coming up the ridge on the right (west) side. To get down,
you must go along the south side and join up with the Rowe Lakes trail.
22 Jul 00 - Looking back across the Lineham Falls area (north), you can see the ascent route
up Blakiston.
