05 Oct 01 - I should have taken an overall picture from Mt. Engadine, but I didn't. You can really see the entire route from there. Here we see the entire route (sort of) from the summit. You just hike the Buller Pass Trail, which is really flat and easy for about 30 minutes. When you get to a point that you can see the Buller col on your left, turn left and go straight to the col. The rest is a slog up bad scree and a few good friction slabs (if the slabs are dry and not covered in scree).

05 Oct 01 - This is from the col looking up the scree. There is a trail which zig-zags up the slope, but it's more for the descent. Going up, you might want to stick to more of the bigger rocks. They aren't as "treadmill-ish".

05 Oct 01 - As you round the top of the scree slope, the summit cairn will come into view a bit to the right.

05 Oct 01 - Just before the summit, you have a slight bit of exposure. In the picture, it's right in front of Rob. The path is about three feet wide. It's vertical on the left and scree on slab to the right. Two or three steps and you are through it. No problem.
