Note for 18 Feb 01:
I went with Sandra McGuinness as a ski tour; however, I just didn't have the energy to do it that day. Note for 24 Feb 01: I came back the following weekend with Rob Maiman and Doreen Donaldson. This time, despite raging winds, blowing snow, and temperatures of -18°C (0°F), we struggled to the top. | ||

24 Feb 01 - I did the approach as a ski tour. Here we see three of us heading up through
skoki near the half-way hut (AKA: Ptarmigan Hut). On the right is Mt. Redoubt. On the left, you'll
see Ptarmigan Peak. In the background (over Bolder Pass) you can see Fossil Mtn.
24 Feb 01 - Here you can see the trio, Mt. Richardson, Pika Mtn, and Ptarmigan Peak.
24 Feb 01 - From Bolder Pass on, we were in near whiteout conditions with heavy winds. I wasn't able to
take any pictures until we were near the summit. At that point, the clouds started to clear, but it was only brief.
Here we see the summit only a few yards away.
24 Feb 01 - Looking back, you can see another wave of clouds coming. This is looking back at
Bolder Pass from the summit.
