Note for 01 Jul 01: I did this one solo and very early in the morning. Great day. Despite summitting at 0800, it was already getting warm. 12°C and mostly sunny. Great morning views as the morning clouds lift out of the valley.

Note for 30 Sep 01: This was a big group. Myself, Tina, Dustin (age 9), Delaney (age 5), Colin, Shelley, Nicole (age 10), and Alex (age 8). Great day. About 12-15°C, sunny, and no crowds at the top. I was really impressed with getting the four kids up there.

30 Sep 01 - This is a great peak if you don't have much time. Of course, you will end up spending more time in the car driving to Louise than you will actually on the mountain. To go up, you just ascend the gully on the right of the peak. Once at the top of the gully, turn left and go straight to the summit.

30 Sep 01 - Here is another picture of the overall peak. This one is taken from the Moraine Lake parking lot.

01 Jul 01 - On Canada Day, I did this peak rather early in the morning as a first peak of a two peak day. Great conditions..... warm enough to wear shorts, but not hot enough to get yourself overheated. This is actually looking down the ascent gully. The gully is really easy. If you stick to the right side of the gully while going up, the scree isn't too bad. Coming down, you want to be on the other side where the scree is a bit deeper.

30 Sep 01 - On my second trip, I went with some friends and their kids. It was a big family gathering. We managed to get four kids (age 5 to 10) up that gully. Here we see Colin towards the top of the gully. The kids really enjoyed this part.... well, except for Dustin (my 9 year old). He had a few crying fits, but once at the top, he was fine.

01 Jul 01 - Here we see what's left of the scramble after you clear the gully. It's just a five minute walk up the ridge to the summit. Pretty easy. That's Mt. Temple's East Ridge in the background.

30 Sep 01 - This is another picture of the remaining route after the gully. This part is very similar to the "pile of rubble" next to the parking lot.

01 Jul 01 - This is the summit, looking back toward Mt. Babel. The summit is covered with these rock chairs as seen here. The summit is very broad and flat. When I went up on 30 Sep 01, the kids spent over an hour running around at the summit. I can't think of another summit that would be so much fun for the kids.

01 Jul 01 - I couldn't resist not sitting on the rock sofa. All I need now is a rock remote control to watch my rock TV. Then I would know what it's like to live with the Flintstones. Click here to enlarge.

30 Sep 01 - Here we see Tina with the four kids. It's like Mother Goose. This is Nicole's picture. Click here to enlarge.

30 Sep 01 - Looking over the edge, you have a great view of Moraine Lake.
