All summer, Dan and I were planning to take our kids up Mt. Temple. It's a big accomplishment for a couple
of 7 year olds. Russell and Delaney ski together at Sunshine Village, so we were hoping to get some type of
rivalry going so that they would push each other to the summit. Unfortunately, it didn't quite work that way.
Delaney had a slight motivation problem, but in the end, all was good. Everybody made the summit, a great
achievement for any 7 year old.

After a quick break at the Larch Valley tarn, we were on our way to the pass. Here we see Delaney and Russell
leading the way. Taylor had climbed Temple before, so he knew to save some energy for later.

In no time at all, we were at Sentinel Pass. This was Delaney's first "I don't want to go on" period, but
after a couple of bribes, like, "I'll buy you whatever pair of race skis you want", he went on.

A little higher up, Delaney was in the lead, and he found a nice rock that he thought would fit his
butt quite nicely. A couple of quick steps, and he sat down for a nice rest break.

Now for the crux. Dan and I followed our own kids up through it. The disadvantage of being so small is that
you can't reach the footholds. Here you see me giving Delaney a quick push in the tush. Unfortunately for
the Ronsky's, Delaney and I showered them with scree.

After Delaney and I cleared the crux, Dan, Taylor and Russell topped out of the chimney.

The five of us made a team. It wasn't just two families. We helped each other. Here we see me
helping Russell up through a short step.

After getting through all of the difficulties, all that remained was the final summit push. Strange how
the kids didn't like it when Dan and I got close to the south face of Temple. Unfortunately for the kids,
that's where the trail goes.

Finally, the summit is in site. Dan and I planned to let Russell and Delaney reach the summit at the
same time and ahead of everybody else. Unfortunately, Delaney took a 1 minute break to catch his breath,
and Russell wasn't waiting. Summit fever hits the 7 year old. There was no stopping him.

Here we see the kids sitting at the summit. One of the biggest peaks in the Canadian Rockies, and Dan and
I got our kids to reach the top. Pretty cool.

Here see all of us at the summit. When we got back to Lake Louise, it was ice cream treats for everyone.
