Note for 20 Jun 99: - Me and Tina. Lots of snow on the approach trail. Summit conditions included light wind, 18°C (64°F), with cloudy skies. Entire slope from summit to Fairview/Saddleback Col could be one big glissade. Tina didn't quite make the summit, stopping about half way between the col and the summit.

20 Jun 99 - Here is Mt. Fairview as seen from Lake Louise Townsite. From the Chateau, it would be the first mountain on the left as you look around the lake. The view from Fairview is quite nice. To get there, park in the upper parking lot. Walk through a trail on the south side of the parking lot. Which connects with another trail. Turn left and follow this trail to the end. You will see a sign which points you to either saddleback or fairview lookout. Follow the path to Saddleback. After numerous switchbacks going through the forest, you will eventually come to the Saddleback Fairview col. From that point, just head up the fairview slope. I'm sure there is a path; however, when I was there, it was all covered with snow. I don't think it really matters, just head up the slope.

20 Jun 99 - On the right side of the slope, you can use big rocks as a way to come up. This would avoid what probably is scree under the snow.

20 Jun 99 - Here is a better picture of the rocks. As you can see, Tina isn't carrying anything. She's just getting into shape, so I (being the nice guy that I am) am carrying her stuff.

20 Jun 99 - Here, we see Tina resting just above the col.

01 Jul 01 - Here is another picture taken from the summit of Sheol Mtn. The right skyline ridge is the ascent route.
