09 Aug 98 - Eiffel Peak is a great climb in the Moraine Lake area.
In order to climb this mountain, you need to park in the Moraine Lake parking lot near
Lake Louise. From the parking lot, you will want to follow the trail to Larch Valley.
To get to this trail, circle Moraine Lake counter-clockwise. Just past the canoe rentals,
you will see the trail head for Larch Valley branching right. This trail has many switchbacks and eventually
will flatten out in Larch Valley. On the other end of Larch Valley is Sentinal Pass. Half
was through Larch Valley, look for a trail that breaks off to the left and crosses a creek.
This trail will lead to the main ridge of Eiffel Peak.

09 Aug 98 - As you get closer to Eiffel Peak, the ridge will slowly start
to get steep. The bottom half of Eiffel Peak is composed of large boulders that you will
have to cross. This can be fun, but it gets old pretty quickly. After the boulders, the
terrain turns into shale-type scree. Your path to the summit really doesn't need to follow
a specific route. Just make your way toward the summit. After the red shale-type scree,
you will come to some light gray rocks, which lead you to a small rockband. Stay just left of
the wall on the right side. The summit is right in front of you. There are no false peaks
here. What you see is what you get.

09 Aug 98 - The summit offers terrific views of many surrounding mountains,
including the ten peaks that surround Moraine Lake. You have a terrific view of Mt. Temple and
Mt. Aberdeen (seen here behind me). From where I'm sitting, it's a long way down.
