Note for 20 Jun 98: It took four attempts to hike this mountain. On the first three, I was turned back due to bears. I highly suggest calling the park rangers before you attempt this mountain. Indefatigable sits in bear country.

20 Jun 98 - Indefatigable sits between the Kananaskis Lakes, thus making the views from Indefatigable quite breath taking. The hike itself it technically very easy. As seen in this picture, you basically hike along a ridge until you come to a trail that branches off to the left. You can turn left and ascend the south summit or you can continue straight and proceed to the north (true) summit. I accidently went to the south summit first, and by the time I realised my mistake, it was too late. I decided to do the North to South Traverse backwards. I highly recommend doing the traverse from north to south. It's much easier that way.

20 Jun 98 - About thirty minutes into your hike (about half way up the front ridge), you will encounter a bench. It's a good place to take your first rest break. Yes... that's my stuff on the bench.

20 Jun 98 - Here, we see some of the ridge trail. I took this from the bench seen above.

20 Jun 98 - Just before the main hiking trail ends, you will see a trail branch off to the left. It will take you to the south summit. This picture is rather deceiving.... the trail quickly becomes quite steep, and in rain can become quite slippery.

20 Jun 98 - If you choose to go to the north summit first, you will come to this tarn. After circling around it, venture up towards the right.

20 Jun 98 - At the top of the south summit, you will see a repeater. I found one of these on top of Mt. Kidd as well. I wonder what they repeat. These things really make me nervous in the rain. That pole is all metal, and would probably make a good lightening rod.

20 Jun 98 - The south peak boast some of the best views of both of the Kananaskis Lakes. Here we see the Upper Kananaskis Lake.

20 Jun 98 - From the south summit, you can access the north summit by doing a traverse across the ridge. It's much easier to do this from north to south, but I ended up doing it the hard way. Once I made it to the north summit, I then attempted to traverse over to Mt. Invincible (8,957'); however I retreated two-thirds of the way concluding that ropes were needed.

20 Jun 98 - As for wildlife, I came across a couple moose (a mother and her calf).
