Dave's Scrambles: The Highwood
 |
The highwood area is a pretty good area to scramble in, but
most of the mountains in this area are rock climbs, not scrambles. Because you start so high, the elevation
gain is actually minimal. This is the first area of the Scrambles book that I've completed. Of the peaks listed below,
I would have to say that the ridge walk between Tyrwhitt and Pocaterra was the best. After I finish the Scrambles book
and start other trips, I would like to walk the ridge from Storelk to Pocaterra. I think that would be great.
Keep in mind, highway 40 is closed from 01 Dec to 15 June.
