Note for 22 Oct 00: I went with Tina, John Ionescu and Rob Maiman. Lots of snow in the last few days, but
we went anyway. It was sunny, but windy and chilly 0°C. We got up to the final major
slope only to find everything iced over. We figured we could probably get to the first summit, but
the summit ridge (difficult and exposed) would wait until another day. Since we wouldn't be summitting,
we turned back right away.

Note for 14 Sep 02: I went with Paul Russell. Sunny, light wind, 5-15°C. Completely dry conditions.

The Wedge seems like a great scramble with a descent approach. Kane describes the approach in
the book quite nicely. It isn't too difficult to pick up the trail leading to the shoulder, which
is just below the final slope to the summit.
Here we see myself, Tina and Rob de-layering as we go up the approach trail to the shoulder. As
you can see, the trail is pretty well worn.
This is Rob looking toward the final summit slope from the "bench".
This is actually us returning, but it gives a good picture of the bench. Just make your way
toward the summit slope, and then go straight up.
The main scree slope going to the top was covered in verglass, so we tried to go up the
right side, which involves much more climbing and is slightly more exposed. Soon after
starting, we realise that we probably won't be able to do the summit ridge to the true
summit, and I was constrained for time, so we turned back. I can't wait to try this one again.
Since we decided to turn back, the sun came out (although, still cold), but we met Tina
at the lower part (north) bench. We sat there, and enjoyed our view of Mt. Kidd.
