19 Jun 99 - Crowsnest Mountain is a fun mountain. To get there, you drive along highway 3 into Coleman. From there,
you'll see a sign for Allison Creek Road. Follow that gravel road, taking the right fork in the road. Park where Alan
Kane suggest. From that parking area, walk south along the power lines for about five minutes, and you should see a trail
heading off to the east. Follow that trail, through a four way intersection, and on toward Crowsnest Mountain. The
approach trail is well worn and will lead you through the forest and on to the scree slopes below Seven Sisters and
Crowsnest Mountain.

19 Jun 99 - When you come out of the trees, you will be facing this scree slope. If you catch it early enough, you
can use the snow to your advantage. I was able to quickly "kick-step" my way up and glissade on my way down. It sure beat
the treadmill tendency of scree. Anyway, going up this hill, you want to head right of the black waterfall looking band
in the rockband. You'll encounter some moderate scrambling as you go up through the rock band, but nothing too exciting.
19 Jun 99 - After you get up through the first rockband, you will want to traverse left below another black band, and
head into a gully.
19 Jun 99 - Here, we see the gully. There is a chain bolted into the rock for your convinence. It really isn't
necessary on the way up, but it makes coming down a lot easier. Toward the top of the gully, the gully splits. Follow
the chain and take the left split.
19 Jun 99 - Once you come out of the gully, you'll have an arial view of seven sisters. Pretty cool, eh?
19 Jun 99 - The rest of the path to the top is very easy and straight forward.
You just walk up scree toward the top.
19 Jun 99 - Here we see the summit. When I was there, it was covered with snow, and I dug around for the
summit register, but I couldn't find it. There was about three feet of snow on the summit, and I found the cairn,
but I couldn't find a register.
