Note for 15 Jul 00: Solo hike. Partly cloudy day with strong gusty winds the entire way up. At the summit, it was 5°C (41°F). The ridge was free of snow. The scramble was a continuation from Mt. Ward.

Note for 03 Aug 02: I went with Taco Van Ieperen. Thick cloud between 6,000 ft and 8,500 ft. Incredible summit views above clouds. We went directly from car to Allison summit, then went to Window Mtn via the connecting ridge.

15 Jul 00 - Here we see the connecting ridge from Ward to Allison, then the first part of the connecting ridge from Allison to Window. On the 03 Aug 02 trip, Taco and I were in thick cloud from just above Ward Lake to the summit of Allison. We got a bit off route on the way up to the Ward/Allison col. We actually ended up waaay right of where we should have, and we ended up in moderate/difficult terrain, but I think it saved us time. We made the summit fairly quickly.

03 Aug 02 - Here we see Taco on the ridge with Allison's summit behind him. This is still early in our ridge, and I think this is just before the "bump" in the ridge about half-way to Allison. As you can see the cloud cover was thick. Click to enlarge

03 Aug 02 - This is the final slope of Allison. About 100 feet to go. As you can see, we're starting to get above the cloud.

03 Aug 02 - This is the summit cairn. The register, which was really hard to find, showed very few visitors in recent years. I'm not sure why. It's a great scramble. I love the exposed ridge walks.

03 Aug 02 - This is Taco standing at the summit enjoying the fine views from above the clouds.

03 Aug 02 - Speaking of looking out over the clouds, here we see Crowsnest Mtn and part of Seven Sisters Mtn sticking out of the clouds. Soon after leaving the summit, we were back in the clouds and on our way to Window Mtn's summit.
