Note for 23 Aug 97: This mountain sucks, and I don't recommend it for anyone unless you have absolutely nothing else to do. The Book says it's not a well travelled outing. Well, there is a reason for that...... it's not worth it.

23 Aug 97 - Mt. Fable was not a fun mountain. I was not impressed with the view, and it just took too long to hike. The approach trail was over two hours long each way, up a dried creek bed. The climb itself was remarkably similar to Mt. Kidd. In my opinion, Mt. Kidd had a better view, and the approach trail for Mt. Kidd is only 20 minutes.

23 Aug 97 - You start this hike beside the factory in Exshaw. Running along the east side of the factory, you will see a creek. Follow it for a couple of hours. Here is a picture of the approach trail. You just go through forest, slowly making your way to Mt. Fable.

23 Aug 97 - Once you get towards the top, you will encounter LOTS of scree. You want to avoid it going up, but it sure helps coming down. Of course, you still had to spend a couple of hours on the approach trail.

23 Aug 97 - Once you climb above the scree, the summit will be in sight.

23 Aug 97 - As with most mountains, there is a summit register. It's sort of your opportunity to say, "I was here."

23 Aug 97 - Here we see George at the top of Mt. Fable.
