Note for 07 Jun 97: This was my first mountain of the year, and I do not recommend this mountain as a way of reintroducing your legs to vertical hiking. On this particular day, we went with a large group of six people.

To get to this mountain, park at Bow Falls near the Banff Springs Golf Course. From there, you will see a trail on the other side of the golf course. Follow that trail (a fire road) for quite some time. Then, the trail branches off to the left and is rather flat with lots of switchbacks. The trail is easy going until you cross an avalanche gully. From there, the trail is a lot more narrow and immediately becomes steep. Once you break the treeline, it's just a huge slope until you get to the summit.

07 Jun 97 - When I hiked this mountain, I forgot to bring my camera, so I had to use George's pictures. Unfortunately, George doesn't take very many pictures, and he only takes pictures at the top. Anyway, from the summit, we see two of the women we were hiking with. In the background, you can see part of Banff. Notice the terrain of Rundle. This is the type of terrain you will encounter from the treeline to the top (lots of large loose rocks).

07 Jun 97 - Don't walk too far as you're approaching the summit. It's straight down!!! In the background, you can see the first peak of Rundle, and in the very background, you can see more of Banff.

19 Jul 97 - Here is a picture of Rundle taken from Cascade Mountain. The trail is on the right side of the mountain.

26 Jul 97 - Here is a picture of Rundle as seen from Grotto Mountain.
