Dave's Wildlife Pictures: Dahl Sheep

Dahl Sheep are kind of like a cross between a mountain goat and a mountain sheep. At Kluane Lake northwest of Whitehorse, there is a mountain (Sheep Mountain), which is named for these sheep. At first glance, I swore they were mountain goats because of their white colour, but I was quickly corrected. I have noticed that the horns are different. On a mountain goat, the horns curve back. On these Dahl sheep, the horns curve slightly outward to allow the horn to make a full circle. These two Dahl sheep are still pretty young.
