Dave's List of The Canadian Rockies 11,000 footers
Unlike the other lists, financial resources isn't really a constraint (except for gear).
None of these peaks include airplane flying, although, some of the peaks, such as Robson,
Clemenceau, and the Lyells have helicopter access
if you can't do the long hike in. Many of these peaks are in the middle of the various
glaciers and can be done in groups. For instance, a successful trip to the Columbia Glaicer can
result in Columbia, North Twin, Twins Tower, South Twin, Kitchener, Snow Dome, Stutfield West,
and Stutfield East (all over 11,000ft). Given good weather, these can be done in about 5 days.
There is a little bit of debate about this list. Peter Rowlands has done a series of articles
raising the question of a revised list. By way of mountain crumbling and glacier melt, some mountains
have lost a couple of feet of total elivation, and therefor changed position in the list. The entire
series of articles can be found on Rescue Dynamic's website under Articles.
Anyway, without further ado, here is the list of the Canadian Rockies 11,000 footers.
