Note for 20 Dec 03: I went with Blair Piggot, Mike Trehearne, and Kurt. Bad weather plagued us all day. Low cloud, high wind, lots of spindrift, etc. We split the party so that Blair and I climbed the left while Mike and Curt climbed the right. Due to the short day light, we didn't have time to climb both. Click for detailed trip report

20 Dec 03 - The ski approach for Lineham Falls was pretty easy. The snow was nice and hard (actually slippery). On the way in, you can't see the left climb until you're pretty much right on it.

20 Dec 03 - We stayed on the north side of Lineham Creek until we were beside the right ice climb. At that point, we crossed the gully and started hiking up to the base of the left climb.

20 Dec 03 - Here we see Blair trudging up to the base of the left climb. It was mostly frozen scree at this point.

20 Dec 03 - This is Blair starting out. There was some deep wind drifted snow at the base of the climbs. Even as we climbed, our packs were covered in spindrift.

20 Dec 03 - Another picture of Blair starting out. The climb was a lot harder than it looks. There was even a vertical section that involved a 3-4 ft traverse. That was fun.

20 Dec 03 - The climb starts getting harder around where Blair is.

20 Dec 03 - Blair is around the crux at this point.

20 Dec 03 - At this point, the clouds dropped down a bit. It just wasn't a good weather day. This is looking from the base of Lineham Left toward Blakiston.

20 Dec 03 - This is looking toward the base of Lineham Right. You can't really see it, but there is a huge crack going across the very start of the climb. The crack was about 8 inches wide and pretty much ran all the way across. That would be a bit unnerving.
