Note for 01 Jan 02:
My first climb of 2002, and my first night climb ever. I went with John and Tom. Great experience.
Temperatures stayed around -11°C. The ice was thin and brittle. Protection was a combination of
pitons and stubbies. The first screw was about 40 meters up. | ||

01 Jan 02 - Here we are after the climb taking off our gear and drinking tea. It was truly a great time.
01 Jan 02 - We started the climb around 1600, which gave us about an hour of daylight. This let us get through the
thin crux stuff before night came.
01 Jan 02 - Here is John leading the first 60 meters. This is also where he put in his first
piece of protection, a piton.
