Olympic Plaza
Olympic Plaza was the main site of the ceremonies for the 1988 Winter
Olympics. It's where they gave out all the medals. Now, the park features
water fountains during the summer and is converted into an ice rink in the
winter. During the summer, the park is full of business people during lunch.
Many "park-style concerts" are held at Olympic Plaza, which is nice for me
because my balcony overlooks this area.

Here we see
Calgary's city hall and the nearby Olympic Plaza..... The city just turned
the fountain on, so the favourite summer lunch time gathering spot will
soon be buzzing with people. |

Here we see
the sun coming up over Olympic Plaza. To the left is the U.S. Consulate,
and you can barely see the edge of my building. |

Here is a closer view of Olympic Plaza.
In the background, you can see "Old City Hall." On the right side of the
picture, you can catch a glimpse of the "new City Hall." |

Yet another view of the plaza. The
building on the right is the U.S. Consulate, with my building behind it.

This is a great shot of Olympic Plaza. This large contrete square in the
middle is an ice rink during the winter, and it's filled with water
during the summer. At this point, it was in transition. Anyway,
this is a great place for business people, who work downtown, to hang
out during lunch. |
