Note for 22 Jul 01: This was an ACC trip that I led. 5 people. We hiked in under great sunny conditions, but a few hours after we set up camp, the bad weather rolled in and didn't leave until we got back to the car. We turned around due to lack of enthusiasm and avalanche conditions.
Note for 14 Aug 04: I went with Dan Ronsky and Blair Piggot as a day trip. Sunny and dry conditions. I was amazed at how much the glacier has retreated. This peak was done as the second peak of the day, bagging Mt. Woolley first, then traversed over and up Diadem Peak before returning to the car. Car to car was 14.5 hours. Check out the first half of this trip (Mt. Woolley)
14 Aug 04: Here we see myself leaving the Woolley/Diadem col behind. In the background, you can see Mt. Woolley on the left and Mt. ALberta in the center.

14 Aug 04: When we left the Woolley/Diadem col, Blair just took off and remained about 100 yards ahead of us normal people. Here we see him about to each the upper snowfield on Diadem.

14 Aug 04: Diadem Peak is just a walk until you reach the summit. Then you have a little bit of exposed scrambling. This is Blair in the front and me chasing him. I wonder where Dan went.

14 Aug 04: Another picture of the scrambling portion on Diadem.

14 Aug 04: Here we are at the summit.

14 Aug 04: Here is Blair starting his descent back to the col.

14 Aug 04: Back at the col, this is Blair and I packed up and ready to descend back to the highway. Old man Blair's knees were starting to give him trouble, and this really slowed us down once we were off the lower Woolley Glacier. With that said, he's still faster than me and Dan.

14 Aug 04: As we were walking around in the crevassed lower glacier, we began to get silly with our poses.

14 Aug 04: Below the boulder field, you cross upper Woolley Creek and head back to the Sunwapta River.
